Slow Dance

or listened to rain slapping the ground?

After shooting the AW11-12 Flutter-Bye collection with Jamie cowlishaw who goes by the name “One 9 Photography” I could not wait to shoot another collection.

After a few weeks planning the concept the team met at Klue HQ early one December morning. This collection has strong dominant theme with clean lines and monochrome colour pallet “behind open doors” plays with the idea of fetish wear with elements of restrictive garments, sheer and contrasting fabrics, dramatic shapes and lines that distort the line between outer wear and lingerie.

This shoot is the first in a series of capsule collections showcasing innovative luxury limited designs that will only be available from selected stockists.

Here it is, my first Blog! It has been a long time coming, but I have finally found the time to write one and keep you update on what’s has been going on and what is coming up with Klue by Kelly-ann. I will start by letting you know that in early September I had the pleasure of working with a very talented team of people who brought my latest collection ‘Flutter-Bye’ to life.

Flutter-Bye is KLUE by Kelly-Ann’s 3rd Fashion collection and was inspired by the theme of metamorphosis the transformation from a cocoon to a butterfly, drawing on the view point that life is about a constant Metamorphosis of change.

I have ensured that each outfit connotes the transformation of a chrysalis to a butterfly, and the collection is rife with structured folds, gathering and garments which restrict the movement or surround the body in strapping reflecting the notion of the cocoon. I have used bold colour blocking and dramatic shapes, all signature elements of a newly formed butterfly. Klue by Kelly-Ann also toys with opacity and translucency to suggest skin vs. motion, cocoons vs. butterfly wings, freedom vs restrictions.

All this was captured when I had the pleasure of working with a photographer who i have admired for some time now Jamie Cowlishaw – One9Photography who fully embraced my concept and ran with it. He has my full respect and is highly recommend.

In addition, the shoot consisted of many more talented individuals including Rosanna Binns ‘HairStylist’ who by far is one of the best hair stylist I’ve worked with, her flair and enthusiasm was a delight to see.

Abi Benton ‘MUA’ who i have collaborated with on the past 3 Shoots has never failed to create a timeless and classic look that enhances and compliments each collection. Naturally my two special ladies Lauren Satur & Lisa Marie Lesi who have become THE faces of Klue by Kelly-Ann embrace the shoot with their prominent striking looks and persona which embody the Klue by Kelly-Ann Style and I was lucky to have the exquisite return of Helen Senior who i had the pleasure to meet on the AW 10 Collection Melodrama.

I always look forward to every photoshoot as its the first glimpse of the collection coming together and it’s even better doing it with an exceptional team behind you.

October is a Busy month for us all at Klue by Kelly-Ann which will see me at 3 different Fashions Shows around the UK including Leeds, Liverpool and Birmingham and to top the month of October I will be showcasing my latest collection ‘Flutter-Bye’ for you all to see and buy at Meadowhall ‘ In New Designers We Trust’ from the 24th October for a full week and I will be Blogging and keeping you all up to date of all this action but for a day by day update follow me on Twitter – @Kluebykellyann or facebook – Klue by Kellyann
